Terrace reconfiguration (2015)
Located in Newcastle the project provided us with the opportunity to further test the transformation of the Victorian terrace house typology. The obligatory opening up of the ground floor was carried out with the kitchen in the centre of the house, the remaining 4 bays; courtyard, living and sitting room and snug are linked with overscaled timber portals framing the link between spaces.
The rooms were refurbished to a meticulous level of detail and finish, resulting in sophisticated utilitarian chic interiors. The project represents a continuation of the college’s commitment to preserving their buildings and enhancing the level of student accommodation.
