The community group approached OFA to help with transforming a former scout hall into a vibrant community temple. The project involved navigating a constrained site in London to create a sympathetic and contemporary new temple. References are drawn from the local context as well as the cultural tradition of the community to create a collaged solution that is unique to this particular site.
The scheme is organised with the main space at first-floor level under a sculptural roof form with dramatic roof lights. At ground floor level there is a community multi-functional room, catering kitchen and ancillary accommodation.
