Operational since 2011, the Ahimsa Dairy Foundation is a not-for-profit company established to produce entirely slaughter-free milk. Starting with 48 acres, Ahimsa now farm 72 acres of organic land between Wing and Manton in Rutland. This enables them to develop their long-term plans to farm to the highest agro-ecological standards, providing a haven for wildlife and farming holistically in keeping with the local environment and communities.
Their vision as guardians and stewards of the land is to farm entirely in harmony with nature, enhancing biodiversity, producing wholesome food and providing employment on the land.
The Foundation produces mainly milk with the production of cheese starting and distributes locally including to farmers markets in London and Hertfordshire.
