Lancing College
Exhibition
Original Field was invited to design an exhibition celebrating Lancing College’s 175-year history. The exhibition in the Dining Hall (Grade II* listed) features a dialogue between past and present through portraits of 28 influential individuals, selected from over 300 nominations, showcased for their significant contributions to Lancing and the wider world. Collaborating with Dominic Oliver, Lancing College Headmaster and photographer Fran Monks has resulted in an inspiring display.
While working closely with the specialist Outback Rigging Group, the design preserves the historic integrity of the hall by utilising near-invisible theatre technology rigging, which enhances the floating effect of the portraits. This approach complements the traditional wall portraits while providing an engaging dining experience and creating a dynamic, showcase environment.
