Millets Farm Cottages
Residential Extension

The design focuses on combining two unlisted 18th-century cottages into a single-family home, involving significant internal alterations as much of the original structure was retained. The building envelope has been upgraded internally to provide better thermal performance by insulating the walls and roof.

The oil tank heating system has been replaced with a ground source heat pump, further decarbonizing the property and making these cottages suitable for modern living while preserving their historic character. A new bridge connects the two cottages, passing through a timber and glass orangery at the rear.

This extension integrates well with the existing structure, complementing the roof and adding a contemporary touch.
